| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Homero Martinez III, who has been named associate |

| 4 | 4 | | director of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Care System; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Born in McAllen, Texas, Mr. Martinez began a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | career with the United States Air Force by enlisting on April 22, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1993; he was commissioned as an officer in January of 2001; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, During his military career, he worked in the Air |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Education and Training Command, the Air Mobility Command, the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | United States Transportation Command, and the Air Combat |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Command, and he contributed to a variety of military programs, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | including Operations, Strategic Planning and Implementation, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Recruiting, Financial Management, and Financial Services; he was |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | mobilized with the Multi-National Force--Iraq while serving in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Operation Iraqi Freedom; he retired from the air force in April |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of 2013 after many years of distinguished service; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez's experience both within and outside |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of the military has provided him unique insight to the varied needs |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of veterans, and his administrative and financial expertise, as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | well as his leadership skills, will contribute greatly to the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | success of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Care System; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Homero Martinez III for his tireless |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | work on behalf of veterans and congratulate him on being named |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | associate director of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Bend Health Care System; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
