SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 657
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Homero Martinez III, who has been named associate
director of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health
Care System; and
WHEREAS, Born in McAllen, Texas, Mr. Martinez began a
career with the United States Air Force by enlisting on April 22,
1993; he was commissioned as an officer in January of 2001; and
WHEREAS, During his military career, he worked in the Air
Education and Training Command, the Air Mobility Command, the
United States Transportation Command, and the Air Combat
Command, and he contributed to a variety of military programs,
including Operations, Strategic Planning and Implementation,
Recruiting, Financial Management, and Financial Services; he was
mobilized with the Multi-National Force--Iraq while serving in
Operation Iraqi Freedom; he retired from the air force in April
of 2013 after many years of distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez's experience both within and outside
of the military has provided him unique insight to the varied needs
of veterans, and his administrative and financial expertise, as
well as his leadership skills, will contribute greatly to the
success of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health
Care System; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Homero Martinez III for his tireless
work on behalf of veterans and congratulate him on being named
associate director of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal
Bend Health Care System; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
