11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 67
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize William Grace of Boy Scout Troop 59 in Port Isabel for
44 achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined the
55 elite corps of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted
66 Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
77 WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a
88 small percentage of boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank
99 of Eagle Scout; and
1010 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
1111 promise, William advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
1212 Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle
1313 Scout; and
1414 WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
1515 through planning, developing, and conducting a service project
1616 that benefited his community; he led a group of volunteers in a
1717 beautification project at a community cemetery in preparation
1818 for a 2016 Memorial Day event; he is truly a shining example to
1919 his fellow Scouts and the young people of Texas; and
2020 WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, William has brought
2121 great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
2222 his state; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2424 Legislature, hereby commend William Grace on receiving this
2525 prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
2626 achievement; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2828 Eagle Scout Grace as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
