SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 67
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize William Grace of Boy Scout Troop 59 in Port Isabel for
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined the
elite corps of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted
Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a
small percentage of boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank
of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
promise, William advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle
Scout; and
WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
through planning, developing, and conducting a service project
that benefited his community; he led a group of volunteers in a
beautification project at a community cemetery in preparation
for a 2016 Memorial Day event; he is truly a shining example to
his fellow Scouts and the young people of Texas; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, William has brought
great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
his state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend William Grace on receiving this
prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Eagle Scout Grace as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
