| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Colonel Kevin John Kaley, United States Army Reserve, |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | who is retiring on August 1, 2017, after 30 years of outstanding |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service to the nation; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Colonel Kaley was commissioned as an officer on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | July 16, 1987; a graduate of Marist College, he also attended the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | United States Army War College, where he earned a master's degree |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in strategic studies; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Since 2014, Colonel Kaley has served as the chief |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | regional emergency preparedness liaison officer for the 76th |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Operational Response Command, Region 6, in Denton; he formerly |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | held numerous positions as an officer, and for four years, he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | served as commander of the 1st Battalion, 355th Field Artillery |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Regiment; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished military |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | career, he has been stationed at posts across the country and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | around the world; his service has included deployment as a support |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | officer at Forward Operating Base Dwyer in Afghanistan in 2010 and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 2011; his many honors and decorations include the Army Commendation |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | with three oak leaf clusters, and the Bronze Star; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary officer, he is respected and admired |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | by his fellow officers and enlisted personnel alike, and it is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | truly fitting that he receive special recognition; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Colonel Kevin John Kaley, United |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | States Army Reserve, on his exceptional service to the nation and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
