SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 707 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Colonel Kevin John Kaley, United States Army Reserve, who is retiring on August 1, 2017, after 30 years of outstanding service to the nation; and WHEREAS, Colonel Kaley was commissioned as an officer on July 16, 1987; a graduate of Marist College, he also attended the United States Army War College, where he earned a master's degree in strategic studies; and WHEREAS, Since 2014, Colonel Kaley has served as the chief regional emergency preparedness liaison officer for the 76th Operational Response Command, Region 6, in Denton; he formerly held numerous positions as an officer, and for four years, he served as commander of the 1st Battalion, 355th Field Artillery Regiment; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished military career, he has been stationed at posts across the country and around the world; his service has included deployment as a support officer at Forward Operating Base Dwyer in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2011; his many honors and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and the Bronze Star; and WHEREAS, An exemplary officer, he is respected and admired by his fellow officers and enlisted personnel alike, and it is truly fitting that he receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Colonel Kevin John Kaley, United States Army Reserve, on his exceptional service to the nation and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
