| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Terri Henry, who has been selected as a first place |

| 4 | 4 | | winner of the Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in |

| 5 | 5 | | Science Teaching by the Texas Medical Association; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Medical Association's Ernest and Sarah |

| 7 | 7 | | Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching recognize and |

| 8 | 8 | | reward teachers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | who share their energy and enthusiasm for science with students |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in the classroom; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Terri Henry is an innovative and resourceful |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | educator at Benold Middle School in Georgetown, where she is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | helping students to gain a fundamental understanding of science |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | through inventive methods; she is beloved and respected by her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | students and is a source of inspiration to them; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Terri Henry instills in her students a love of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | learning that will benefit them long into the future; as an award |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | recipient, she is receiving a monetary prize and a resource grant |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to supplement her school's science curriculum; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Terri Henry on her many contributions |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to the education of young citizens and congratulate her on her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | selection as a first place winner of the Texas Medical |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Association's Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in |
