SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 708 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Terri Henry, who has been selected as a first place winner of the Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching by the Texas Medical Association; and WHEREAS, The Texas Medical Association's Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching recognize and reward teachers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels who share their energy and enthusiasm for science with students in the classroom; and WHEREAS, Terri Henry is an innovative and resourceful educator at Benold Middle School in Georgetown, where she is helping students to gain a fundamental understanding of science through inventive methods; she is beloved and respected by her students and is a source of inspiration to them; and WHEREAS, Terri Henry instills in her students a love of learning that will benefit them long into the future; as an award recipient, she is receiving a monetary prize and a resource grant to supplement her school's science curriculum; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Terri Henry on her many contributions to the education of young citizens and congratulate her on her selection as a first place winner of the Texas Medical Association's Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
