SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 71 WHEREAS, Benjamin O'Neill Seago has recently been honored by the Boy Scout program for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, a rank achieved by only a small percentage of boys in the program; and WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding leadership through the planning and execution of a service project that has benefited his community; he raised more than $3,000 in donated funds and materials and guided a team of volunteers in constructing a courtyard cafeteria deck with wheelchair access for the children at Saint Joseph Catholic School; and WHEREAS, Benjamin advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank of Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and promise; and WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state; and WHEREAS, Benjamin is an exceptional representative of the State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Benjamin O'Neill Seago on earning the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Seago as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
