55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
66 citizens of Graham in mourning the loss of Harrison Brown, who
77 died May 1, 2017; and
88 WHEREAS, Harrison Brown was an exemplary young man whose
99 many achievements and great potential were an inspiration to all
1010 those who were privileged to share in his life; and
1111 WHEREAS, Harrison was a 2016 graduate of Graham High School,
1212 where he ran cross country, participated in one-act play, and
1313 played trumpet in the Rompin' Stompin' Big Blue Band; he was voted
1414 by his fellow students as class favorite, and the school's faculty
1515 named him Mr. GHS, the school's most outstanding student; and
1616 WHEREAS, He was a source of pride and joy for his parents,
1717 Kurt and Lori Brown, and a source of strength and comfort for his
1818 brother, John; and
1919 WHEREAS, The death of one so young is a great tragedy, for
2020 in the faces of the young we see the hope and promise of our
2121 future; Harrison's unique spirit, and the joy he brought to
2222 others, will continue to live well beyond his life; and
2323 WHEREAS, A devoted son and loving brother, he gave
2424 unselfishly to others, and his generous spirit, his boundless
2525 energy, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest
2626 will not be forgotten by his family and countless friends; now,
2727 therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2929 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3030 family of Harrison Brown; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3232 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3333 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3434 memory of Harrison Brown.
