| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Milton Fred Paul Fuchs on the grand occasion of his |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | 90th birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A native of Burton, Texas, Milton Fuchs was born |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | in his family's farmhouse on May 23, 1927, and he grew up working |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the farm alongside his parents and six siblings; his father, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Robert A. Fuchs, served in the Texas House of Representatives for |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 17 years, and Milton served as a mascot for the chamber in 1937, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the same year his father cosponsored the statewide soil and water |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | conservation act; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1948, Milton earned his bachelor of business |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | administration degree in accounting from The University of Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | at Austin, and he went directly to work at the Humble Oil and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Refining Company in Houston; he remained with the company as it |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | transitioned to Enco, and then to Exxon, and he retired from the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | computer operations department after a distinguished 38-year |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | career; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Fuchs married the late Odea Lee Rives on |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | March 24, 1956, and the couple shared 50 years of marriage; they |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | were blessed with three children and with four grandchildren who |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | are a source of immense pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Milton Fuchs is a cherished member of his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | community and a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | sang bass in the choir for many years; his birthday is indeed |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | cause for celebration among his family and many friends; now, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby recognize Milton Fred Paul Fuchs as a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | treasured citizen of Texas and congratulate him on his 90th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | birthday; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 33 | 33 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
