| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the James Earl Rudder High School boys' gymnastics |

| 4 | 4 | | team, which recently won the state championship title at the 51st |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Texas High School Gymnastics Coaches Association State Meet; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, At the meet, which was held at Permian High School |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in Odessa, the Rudder Rangers came from behind to clinch their |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | second consecutive state championship; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and they can |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | take pride in their outstanding performance; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | head coach J. T. Fletcher, the Rangers have developed exceptional |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | skill and discipline; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Coach Fletcher's gymnastics program in the Bryan |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Independent School District has won 10 state championships over |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the years, and the 2017 title is the fourth for the program since |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | its move to Rudder High School; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The students and staff at Rudder High School and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the members of the Bryan community are proud of the Rudder |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | gymnasts for their hard work, their impressive skills, and their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the James Earl Rudder |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | High School Rangers boys' gymnastics team on their successful |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | season and congratulate them on winning the team championship at |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the 51st Texas High School Gymnastics Coaches Association State |
