| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Cassie Davis for her outstanding work as a legislative |

| 4 | 4 | | intern in the office of Senator Royce West; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Cassie Davis is a graduate student at both the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and the School of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Public Health at The University of Texas at Austin, and she |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | expects to earn master's degrees in both programs in 2018; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, As an intern in the senator's office, Cassie |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | played an integral role in the success of "Team West"; her many |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | responsibilities included attending committee hearings and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | summarizing the proceedings, primarily those of the Committee on |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Health and Human Services; she also researched, analyzed, and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | provided feedback on bills, drafted questions for floor debate, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and spent time with constituents; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, During her internship, Cassie gained firsthand |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | knowledge of the governmental process and insight into the issues |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | facing our communities and our state, and she was an invaluable |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | asset to the staff in the office of Senator West; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Cassie Davis on her exemplary work as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a legislative intern for Senator Royce West and extend to her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
