SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 829
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Cassie Davis for her outstanding work as a legislative
intern in the office of Senator Royce West; and
WHEREAS, Cassie Davis is a graduate student at both the
Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and the School of
Public Health at The University of Texas at Austin, and she
expects to earn master's degrees in both programs in 2018; and
WHEREAS, As an intern in the senator's office, Cassie
played an integral role in the success of "Team West"; her many
responsibilities included attending committee hearings and
summarizing the proceedings, primarily those of the Committee on
Health and Human Services; she also researched, analyzed, and
provided feedback on bills, drafted questions for floor debate,
and spent time with constituents; and
WHEREAS, During her internship, Cassie gained firsthand
knowledge of the governmental process and insight into the issues
facing our communities and our state, and she was an invaluable
asset to the staff in the office of Senator West; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Cassie Davis on her exemplary work as
a legislative intern for Senator Royce West and extend to her
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
