| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dillon Lucas for his outstanding work as a legislative |

| 4 | 4 | | intern in the office of Senator Royce West; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dillon Lucas is a student at The University of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Texas School of Law, and he has previously served the Texas |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Legislature as an intern and a clerk for Senator Eddie Lucio Jr.; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | he expects to earn his law degree in May of 2018; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, As an intern in the senator's office, Dillon played |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | an integral role in the success of "Team West"; his many |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | responsibilities included attending committee hearings and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | summarizing the proceedings, primarily those of the Committees on |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Administration and State Affairs; he also researched, analyzed, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and provided feedback on bills, drafted questions for floor debate, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and spent time with constituents; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, During his internship, Dillon gained firsthand |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | knowledge of the governmental process and insight into the issues |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | facing our communities and our state, and he was an invaluable |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | asset to the staff in the office of Senator West; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dillon Lucas on his exemplary work as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a legislative intern for Senator Royce West and extend to him |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
