SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 831
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dillon Lucas for his outstanding work as a legislative
intern in the office of Senator Royce West; and
WHEREAS, Dillon Lucas is a student at The University of
Texas School of Law, and he has previously served the Texas
Legislature as an intern and a clerk for Senator Eddie Lucio Jr.;
he expects to earn his law degree in May of 2018; and
WHEREAS, As an intern in the senator's office, Dillon played
an integral role in the success of "Team West"; his many
responsibilities included attending committee hearings and
summarizing the proceedings, primarily those of the Committees on
Administration and State Affairs; he also researched, analyzed,
and provided feedback on bills, drafted questions for floor debate,
and spent time with constituents; and
WHEREAS, During his internship, Dillon gained firsthand
knowledge of the governmental process and insight into the issues
facing our communities and our state, and he was an invaluable
asset to the staff in the office of Senator West; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Dillon Lucas on his exemplary work as
a legislative intern for Senator Royce West and extend to him
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
