| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Holly K. Stephens for her outstanding work as a |

| 4 | 4 | | legislative intern in the office of Senator Royce West; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Holly Stephens graduated from the University of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 2016 with a bachelor of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | arts degree in political science and a minor in education; she |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | has traveled to Uganda, Senegal, Australia, and New Zealand to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | serve as an instructor and to study policy and education |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | systems; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, As an intern in the senator's office, Holly played |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | an integral role in the success of "Team West"; her many |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | responsibilities included attending committee hearings and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | summarizing the proceedings, primarily those of the Committees |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | on Education and Higher Education; she also researched, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | analyzed, and provided feedback on bills, drafted questions for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | floor debate, and spent time with constituents; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, During her internship, Holly gained firsthand |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | knowledge of the governmental process and insight into the issues |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | facing our communities and our state, and she was an invaluable |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | asset to the staff in the office of Senator West; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Holly K. Stephens on her exemplary |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | work as a legislative intern for Senator Royce West and extend to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
