SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 883 WHEREAS, Robert J. Posner Jr., senior pastor of Collin Creek Church in Plano, served as Chaplain of the Day for the Texas Senate on May 8, 2017; and WHEREAS, A native of Cherry Point, North Carolina, Robert Posner earned his bachelor's degree in pastoral theology from Southeastern Free Will Baptist College in 1992, and that same year, he began his career in ministry as pastor of Lifegate Free Will Baptist Church in Tyler; and WHEREAS, For the past 19 years, this respected clergyman has ably led the congregation at Collin Creek Church; in addition to fulfilling his pastoral duties, he also serves as chair of the Texas Free Will Baptist Mission Board, and over the years, he has taken part in numerous international mission trips and taught at conferences and seminaries; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Posner is blessed with the love and support of his wife of 33 years, Judy, and their three children, Bethany Lopez, Anna Keller, and Nathan Posner; he also takes great pride in his grandchildren, Levi, Nolan, Hank, Dallas, and Denver; and WHEREAS, Pastor Robert Posner exemplifies the highest ideals of his vocation, and he has inspired countless Texans with his message of faith and goodwill; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby honor Robert Posner for his service as Chaplain of the Day and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Pastor Posner as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
