| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, For over 170 years, the State of Texas has |

| 3 | 3 | | embraced peoples of all nationalities and even citizens of lesser |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | states within these United States of America; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Many of these newly adopted Texans found their way |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | to the great State of Texas as fast as they could and subsequently |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | served this state with distinction and honor; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Despite not having the good fortune of calling |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the Lone Star State their home, other citizens of these lesser |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | states have instead distinguished themselves by using their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | professional talents in service to Texas' businesses and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | citizens; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Finding himself in this second category, Weller |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hensell Harris Jr. has indeed served many Texas companies for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | decades, especially those in the construction and engineering |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | industries; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Weller Hensell Harris Jr. also served the State of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Georgia as assistant attorney general in design and construction |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | matters and as the adjunct professor for 20 years at the Georgia |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Institute of Technology; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For the last 38 years, Weller Hensell Harris Jr. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | has been the managing partner of Wasson, Sours and Harris, P.C., |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | based in Atlanta; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, While having a commendable life and successful |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | career outside of Texas' expansive borders, Weller Hensell |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Harris Jr. has always had great affection for this state and is a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | true Texan in his heart; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend Weller Hensell Harris Jr. on his |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | exceptional achievements and extend best wishes for the future to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | him, his wife of 51 years, Sara Todd "Toddie" Alston Harris, and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | their two children and five grandchildren; and, be it further |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Weller Hensell Harris Jr. as an expression of high regard from |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | the Texas Senate. |
