SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 888 WHEREAS, For over 170 years, the State of Texas has embraced peoples of all nationalities and even citizens of lesser states within these United States of America; and WHEREAS, Many of these newly adopted Texans found their way to the great State of Texas as fast as they could and subsequently served this state with distinction and honor; and WHEREAS, Despite not having the good fortune of calling the Lone Star State their home, other citizens of these lesser states have instead distinguished themselves by using their professional talents in service to Texas' businesses and citizens; and WHEREAS, Finding himself in this second category, Weller Hensell Harris Jr. has indeed served many Texas companies for decades, especially those in the construction and engineering industries; and WHEREAS, Weller Hensell Harris Jr. also served the State of Georgia as assistant attorney general in design and construction matters and as the adjunct professor for 20 years at the Georgia Institute of Technology; and WHEREAS, For the last 38 years, Weller Hensell Harris Jr. has been the managing partner of Wasson, Sours and Harris, P.C., based in Atlanta; and WHEREAS, While having a commendable life and successful career outside of Texas' expansive borders, Weller Hensell Harris Jr. has always had great affection for this state and is a true Texan in his heart; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Weller Hensell Harris Jr. on his exceptional achievements and extend best wishes for the future to him, his wife of 51 years, Sara Todd "Toddie" Alston Harris, and their two children and five grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Weller Hensell Harris Jr. as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
