H.R. No. 170
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For 75 years, residents of Leander have come
together to celebrate their faith at the Leander Church of Christ;
and
WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Leander Church of Christ has
played a vital role in the lives of its members, providing them with
myriad opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and
outreach; its numerous ministries include LIFE Groups and a food
pantry that is one of the few in the Austin area to be open in the
evening; the church also conducts Spanish-language worship
services and Bible classes and supports a number of missions; and
WHEREAS, Congregants of the Leander Church of Christ have
long benefited from the dedicated efforts of their elders, deacons,
and ministers, and the devoted service of those individuals
continues to support and nurture this vibrant church community; and
WHEREAS, Sustained by a common purpose and inspired teaching,
the members of the Leander Church of Christ have reached a momentous
milestone in the life of their congregation, and it is a pleasure to
join with them in celebrating this special occasion; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 75th
anniversary of the Leander Church of Christ and extend to all those
associated with the church sincere best wishes for the future; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
