R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of Together We Stand Christian Church in
Missouri City are celebrating the 21st anniversary of their
church's founding on September 17, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The church was organized on September 15, 1996, by
its current bishop, the Reverend Allen Rice, his wife, Cheryl, and
two other families, with early services being held in the Rice home;
the congregation relocated to a 10,000-square-foot facility on
Texas Parkway in June 1997, and after purchasing 10 acres of land on
the same road, Together We Stand moved into its present sanctuary in
2006; and
WHEREAS, United by their shared faith and strong traditions,
the members of this notable congregation have established a variety
of commendable programs that foster fellowship and offer help to
those in need; and
WHEREAS, Countless Missouri City residents have looked to
Together We Stand Christian Church for spiritual guidance over the
years, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring the church at this
special time in its rich history; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 21st
anniversary of Together We Stand Christian Church and extend to its
members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
