| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Rick Smith was elected as the Place 8 representative |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Plano for more than three decades, |

| 8 | 9 | | Rick Smith serves as president of Advanced Home Theater Systems, |

| 9 | 10 | | which he founded in 1995; prior to starting his own company, he |

| 10 | 11 | | worked in the business development sector of the health care |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | industry; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Smith has further contributed to his community |

| 13 | 14 | | as a member of the Plano Citizens Police Academy Alumni |

| 14 | 15 | | Association, Citizens Assisting Plano Police, and the Community |

| 15 | 16 | | Emergency Response Team, and he is a graduate of the Plano Citizens |

| 16 | 17 | | Academy as well as the Collin County Citizens Sheriff's Academy; |

| 17 | 18 | | moreover, he shares his time and expertise with the boards of his |

| 18 | 19 | | homeowner's association and AARP Chapter 2304; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Appreciative of Plano's exceptional potential, Rick |
