H.R. No. 196
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Rick Smith was elected as the Place 8 representative
on the Plano City Council in June 2017; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Plano for more than three decades,
Rick Smith serves as president of Advanced Home Theater Systems,
which he founded in 1995; prior to starting his own company, he
worked in the business development sector of the health care
industry; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith has further contributed to his community
as a member of the Plano Citizens Police Academy Alumni
Association, Citizens Assisting Plano Police, and the Community
Emergency Response Team, and he is a graduate of the Plano Citizens
Academy as well as the Collin County Citizens Sheriff's Academy;
moreover, he shares his time and expertise with the boards of his
homeowner's association and AARP Chapter 2304; and
WHEREAS, Appreciative of Plano's exceptional potential, Rick
Smith is committed to making economic opportunity and a high
quality of life available to all its citizens; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Rick Smith on
his election to the Plano City Council and extend to him sincere
best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
