| 6 | 7 | | memories of Rudy A. Tejeda Jr. of Tahoka, who passed away on May 29, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on September 29, 1963, to Rudolfo and Mercy |

| 9 | 10 | | Tejeda, Rudy Tejeda was a lifelong resident of Tahoka; he became an |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | ambulance driver when he was just 17, and two years later, he joined |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | the staff of White Funeral Home; in 2010, he accepted a position at |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Combest Family Funeral Homes, where he worked as a funeral |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | assistant; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, An esteemed public servant, Mr. Tejeda served on the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | city council, and he rose to the rank of captain in the Tahoka |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Police Department; in all his endeavors, he earned the respect and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | admiration of his peers and the community at large with his |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | professionalism, attention to detail, and generosity; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | soon, Rudy Tejeda lived a life that was rich in the intangibles that |

| 21 | 22 | | matter most, and those who were fortunate enough to share in his |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | love and affection will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
