 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
 memories of Rudy A. Tejeda Jr. of Tahoka, who passed away on May 29,
 2017, at the age of 53; and
 WHEREAS, Born on September 29, 1963, to Rudolfo and Mercy
 Tejeda, Rudy Tejeda was a lifelong resident of Tahoka; he became an
 ambulance driver when he was just 17, and two years later, he joined
 the staff of White Funeral Home; in 2010, he accepted a position at
 Combest Family Funeral Homes, where he worked as a funeral
 assistant; and
 WHEREAS, An esteemed public servant, Mr. Tejeda served on the
 city council, and he rose to the rank of captain in the Tahoka
 Police Department; in all his endeavors, he earned the respect and
 admiration of his peers and the community at large with his
 professionalism, attention to detail, and generosity; and
 WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too
 soon, Rudy Tejeda lived a life that was rich in the intangibles that
 matter most, and those who were fortunate enough to share in his
 love and affection will forever hold him close in their hearts; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
 of Rudy A. Tejeda Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members
 of his family: to his parents, Rudy and Mercy Tejeda; to his
 siblings, Tom Tejeda, Mary Harrison and her husband, Mickey, and
 Sylvia Tejeda; to his grandson, Jaxson Harcrow; to his nieces and
 nephews, Gary Chapa and his wife, Melissa, Jason Newdiger and his
 wife, Skylar, Mandi Duncan and her husband, Michael, Mindi Tejeda,
 and Lesley Chapa; to his great-nieces and great-nephews, Aiden,
 Addy, Liam Michael, Averi, Dylin, Thomis, Parkir, Jackquelyn,
 Preslea, and Ella; to his dear friend, Theresa Hammons; and to his
 other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rudy
 Tejeda.
