| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Charlene Seale of Amarillo has become the first |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In December 2016, the VA announced its decision to |

| 9 | 10 | | grant advanced practice registered nurses within its system the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | opportunity to practice to the full extent of their education, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | training, and certification, allowing them to independently |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | perform certain health care functions that had previously required |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | physician supervision; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A native of Friona, Charlene Seale is a certified |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | family nurse practitioner at the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | in Amarillo, where she has spent the past five years of her nursing |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | career, which spans nearly four decades; she holds a master's |

| 18 | 19 | | degree in nursing from West Texas A&M University and a doctor of |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | nursing practice degree from Chamberlain University; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, By providing skillful and compassionate care, |

| 21 | 22 | | Charlene Seale has made a positive impact in the lives of countless |

| 22 | 23 | | veterans in the Lone Star State, and she is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | recognition as she embarks on the next exciting chapter in her |

| 24 | 25 | | career; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Charlene |
