H.R. No. 423 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ben Brown of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 548 in Fritch has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Brown earned 29 merit badges and, for his Eagle Scout project, he organized and led a drive that collected over 800 pounds of food for Living Water Ministries; and WHEREAS, The son of Shannon and Michelle Brown and a senior at Sanford-Fritch High School, this fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, serving his fellow troop members as historian, scribe, and chaplain's aide; he is also a member of the prestigious Order of the Arrow; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Brown's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Ben Brown of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 548 on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
