H.R. No. 475
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gary Parker has retired from the JBS beef processing
plant in Cactus, drawing to a close a notable tenure with the
company that has spanned 41 years; and
WHEREAS, After moving to Dumas in 1973, Mr. Parker worked
pouring concrete, and one of his first jobs was helping to build the
JBS Cactus facility; and
WHEREAS, A few years later, Mr. Parker applied for a job at
the plant, and he first hired on as a forklift driver in the
shipping department; over the course of his exemplary tenure with
JBS, he spent much of his time working in the cattle pens, and he
also distinguished himself in a variety of other positions; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Parker earned the respect and admiration of his
supervisors and coworkers with his strong work ethic, rarely
missing a day during his many decades of employment; and
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Parker enjoys the love and
support of his wife, Tish, as well as that of his 11 children and 30
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Gary Parker's dedication, skill, and commitment to
excellence have greatly benefited the operations of the JBS Cactus
facility, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
spent as he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Gary Parker on
his retirement from the JBS beef processing plant in Cactus and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Parker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
