45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Jason Willett is celebrating 25 years as an attorney
67 in November 2018; and
78 WHEREAS, A Texan since 1972, Mr. Willett completed his
89 bachelor's degree in government at The University of Texas at
910 Austin before going on to graduate from Baylor University School of
1011 Law in 1993; he started his first job that year; and
1112 WHEREAS, Mr. Willett is now a partner in the firm of Wray,
1213 Willett, and Stoffer in Waxahachie; he has focused his practice on
1314 Ellis County, although he has also handled cases across the state in
1415 multiple forums, including arbitration proceedings and the federal
1516 court system; for the most part, he represents clients in personal
1617 injury suits and complex civil litigation, especially employment
1718 law and family law; and
1819 WHEREAS, Admitted to the United States Supreme Court, as well
1920 as to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern
2021 Districts of Texas, Mr. Willett is a member of the State Bar of
2122 Texas; he has served as chair of the District 7-B Grievance
2223 Committee and as president of the Ellis County Bar Association;
2324 moreover, he has demonstrated leadership in the wider community,
2425 serving as president of the Waxahachie Lions Club and as a member of
2526 a number of boards and foundations; he is an elder of Central
2627 Presbyterian Church; and
2728 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Willett enjoys the love
2829 and support of his wife, Robin; he is the proud father of three
2930 children, Audrey, Camille, and Judson, and he takes great delight
3031 in attending their sporting events; in addition, he enjoys playing
3132 golf, traveling, and creating new recipes; and
3233 WHEREAS, Jason Willett has garnered the respect and
3334 admiration of his colleagues in the legal profession, and as he
3435 marks this significant milestone in his career, he may indeed
3536 reflect with pride on his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
3637 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
3738 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jason Willett
3839 on his 25th year in the practice of law and extend to him sincere
3940 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
4041 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4142 prepared for Mr. Willett as an expression of high regard by the
4243 Texas House of Representatives.
