| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 6 | | passing of Polly Perry Marsh Brabham on July 27, 2017, at the age |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of 86; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born to Mary and Fred Perry on May 10, 1931, in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Birmingham, Alabama, the former Polly Perry grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of three sisters, Mary Alice, Nancy, and Jean; she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | graduated from Phillips High School in 1949 and continued her |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | education at the University of Alabama, where she began her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | lifelong involvement with Pi Beta Phi Sorority; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After earning her degree in 1953, Mrs. Brabham |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | embarked on a career in education that included teaching in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Birmingham and Auburn, Alabama, and working at the School for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Little Children in Longview; she later worked as a residential |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | realtor for Lenhart Properties; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Brabham enjoyed a rewarding marriage with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | her first husband, Oscar Marsh, that spanned nearly two decades; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | she was fortunate enough to find love again with Herbert Brabham, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | whom she wed in 1974, and they went on to share 28 years together; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | she was the proud mother of three children, Lucy, Rebecca, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | David, and she took great pleasure in welcoming into her family |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | six grandchildren, Sally, Zachary, Adam, Sam, Adrienne, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Robert, and a great-granddaughter, Polly; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Brabham was a |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | valued congregant of First United Methodist Church, and she |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | belonged to many religious and civic groups; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Although Polly Brabham will be deeply missed, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | in the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | of Polly Perry Marsh Brabham and extend heartfelt sympathy to her |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | so in memory of Polly Brabham. |
