SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127 In Memory of Polly Perry Marsh Brabham WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Polly Perry Marsh Brabham on July 27, 2017, at the age of 86; and WHEREAS, Born to Mary and Fred Perry on May 10, 1931, in Birmingham, Alabama, the former Polly Perry grew up with the companionship of three sisters, Mary Alice, Nancy, and Jean; she graduated from Phillips High School in 1949 and continued her education at the University of Alabama, where she began her lifelong involvement with Pi Beta Phi Sorority; and WHEREAS, After earning her degree in 1953, Mrs. Brabham embarked on a career in education that included teaching in Birmingham and Auburn, Alabama, and working at the School for Little Children in Longview; she later worked as a residential realtor for Lenhart Properties; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Brabham enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her first husband, Oscar Marsh, that spanned nearly two decades; she was fortunate enough to find love again with Herbert Brabham, whom she wed in 1974, and they went on to share 28 years together; she was the proud mother of three children, Lucy, Rebecca, and David, and she took great pleasure in welcoming into her family six grandchildren, Sally, Zachary, Adam, Sam, Adrienne, and Robert, and a great-granddaughter, Polly; and WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Brabham was a valued congregant of First United Methodist Church, and she belonged to many religious and civic groups; and WHEREAS, Although Polly Brabham will be deeply missed, cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Polly Perry Marsh Brabham and extend heartfelt sympathy to her relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Polly Brabham.
