SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 150
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dan Leal for 15 years of exceptional service as
executive director of the Children's Advocacy Center for Denton
County; and
WHEREAS, Dan Leal joined the Children's Advocacy Center for
Denton County after having worked in partnership with the
organization while employed by the City of Denton; passionate
about the center's mission of empowering child abuse victims,
their families, and the community through education, healing,
and justice, he eagerly accepted an offer to serve as executive
director; and
WHEREAS, Under his exemplary leadership, the center has
expanded its facilities and staff to better serve the needs of
abused and neglected children; he has played a vital role in
making the center financially secure and in raising awareness of
its programs throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Leal has been instrumental in building a team
of caring professionals and in creating an environment designed
with the needs of children in mind; the center has worked with law
enforcement agencies and other organizations to ensure that
children's needs are the highest priority; and
WHEREAS, Dan Leal's work has had a profound impact on the
lives of countless abused and neglected children, and it is
truly fitting that he receive special recognition for his
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Dan Leal on his
outstanding work as executive director of the Children's
Advocacy Center for Denton County and extend to him best wishes
for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
