| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Eloisa R. Hernandez on the grand occasion of her 100th |

| 4 | 4 | | birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A woman of great charm and grace, Eloisa Hernandez |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | is well known for her generosity of spirit, and she is a revered |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | citizen of our state; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, She was born August 26, 1917, in Brownsville, to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Tiburcio and Petra Rodriguez; she married Antonio Hernandez on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | February 21, 1937, and the couple was blessed with eight |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | children; her 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 17 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | great-great-grandchildren have been a source of much pride and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | joy for her; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Hernandez held several jobs as a young woman |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | before devoting herself full-time to her growing family; she has |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | throughout her life been a passionate gardener and still enjoys |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | her many plants; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practices her faith in her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | daily life, she is a longtime member of Templo Emmanuel Assembly |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of God, and she regularly reads her Bible in the evenings; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Mrs. Hernandez is noted for her warmth, her wit, and her wise |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | counsel, and she inspires those around her with her enthusiasm |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to Eloisa R. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Hernandez and extend to her best wishes for a memorable 100th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | birthday celebration; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
