13 | 13 | ALABAMA-COUSHATTA AND KICKAPOO INDIAN TRIBES [TRIBE]. | |
14 | 14 | SECTION 2. Article 2.126(a), Code of Criminal Procedure, is | |
15 | 15 | amended to read as follows: | |
16 | 16 | (a) The tribal council of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian | |
17 | 17 | Tribe or the tribal council of the Kickapoo Indian Tribe is | |
18 | 18 | authorized to employ and commission peace officers for the purpose | |
19 | 19 | of enforcing state law within the boundaries of the tribe's | |
20 | 20 | reservation. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
