A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the issuance of a temporary license by the Texas Board
of Nursing to a military service member, military veteran, or
military spouse.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 301, Occupations Code, is
amended by adding Section 301.2601 to read as follows:
Sec. 301.2601. TEMPORARY LICENSE FOR MILITARY SERVICE
MEMBER, MILITARY VETERAN, OR MILITARY SPOUSE. The board shall
adopt rules to expedite the issuance of a temporary license under
Section 301.260 to an applicant who is a military service member,
military veteran, or military spouse, as those terms are defined by
Section 55.001.
SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2020, the Texas Board
of Nursing shall adopt the rules required by Section 301.2601,
Occupations Code, as added by this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
