5 | 12 | relating to the amount credited in a state fiscal year to the | |
6 | 13 | judicial fund to provide basic civil legal services. | |
7 | 14 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
8 | 15 | SECTION 1. Section 402.007(d), Government Code, is amended | |
9 | 16 | to read as follows: | |
10 | 17 | (d) The total amount credited to the judicial fund for | |
11 | 18 | programs approved by the supreme court that provide basic civil | |
12 | 19 | legal services to the indigent under Subsection (b) may not exceed | |
13 | 20 | $50 million per state fiscal year [biennium]. | |
14 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
15 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
16 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
17 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
18 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | |
