77 relating to access to information related to investigations by the
88 Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Chapter 1004, Transportation Code, is amended by
1111 adding Section 1004.003 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 1004.003. CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION RELATED TO
1313 INVESTIGATIONS. Except as necessary to comply with Section
1414 2301.202, Occupations Code, information obtained during an
1515 investigation of a person regulated under Chapter 2301 or 2302,
1616 Occupations Code, or Chapter 503 or 643 of this code is confidential
1717 and not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code,
1818 until the investigation is dismissed or finally resolved.
1919 SECTION 2. Section 2301.612, Occupations Code, is repealed.
2020 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
