9+ A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
410 AN ACT
511 relating to political expenditures made by a corporation to finance
612 the solicitation of political contributions to a political
713 committee.
814 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
915 SECTION 1. Section 253.100(b), Election Code, is amended to
1016 read as follows:
1117 (b) A corporation may make political expenditures,
1218 including fully or partially matching contributions to an
1319 organization that is exempt from federal income tax under Section
1420 501(c)(3), Internal Revenue Code of 1986, to finance the
1521 solicitation of political contributions to a general-purpose
1622 committee assisted under Subsection (a) from the stockholders,
1723 employees, or families of stockholders or employees of one or more
1824 corporations.
1925 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
