| 6 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 8 | 14 | | amended by adding Section 662.071 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 9 | 15 | | Sec. 662.071. SPACE EXPLORATION DAY. (a) July 20 is Space |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | Exploration Day in honor of the heroes of Apollo 11 and those who |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | continue to pursue innovation and exploration. |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | (b) Space Exploration Day may be regularly observed by |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | appropriate ceremonies and activities. |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
