A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the authority of a county auditor to oversee the
expenditure of county funds.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 111.092, Local Government Code, is
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 111.092. [DEPARTMENTAL] EXPENSES NOT TO EXCEED
APPROPRIATIONS. The county auditor shall oversee the warrant
process to ensure that:
(1) the expenses of any department do not exceed the
budget appropriations for that department; and
(2) the expenses for each budgeted item in the budget
do not exceed the budget appropriations for that item.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
