| 17 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 18 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 30.023(d), Education Code, is amended to |

| 19 | 12 | | read as follows: |

| 20 | 13 | | (d) The board shall annually establish the superintendent's |
|---|
| 21 | 14 | | salary. [The annual salary may not exceed 120 percent of the annual |
|---|
| 22 | 15 | | salary of the highest paid instructional administrator at the |
|---|

| 24 | 17 | | SECTION 2. Section 30.053(d), Education Code, is amended to |

| 37 | | - | the time the contract was entered into, and the former law remains |

| 38 | | - | in effect for that purpose. |
