9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 25.0512, Government Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Subsections (a) and (b) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a) In addition to the jurisdiction provided by Section | |
13 | 13 | 25.0003 and other law, a county court at law in Cooke County has | |
14 | 14 | concurrent jurisdiction with the district court in family law cases | |
15 | 15 | and proceedings. | |
16 | 16 | (b) The district clerk serves as clerk of a county court at | |
17 | 17 | law in family law cases and proceedings, and the county clerk serves | |
18 | 18 | as clerk of the court in all other cases and proceedings. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
