| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 2, 1990, Hayden Heidelberg was the |

| 10 | 11 | | cherished son of Nathan and Glendene Heidelberg and the loving |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | brother of three sisters, Amy, Molly, and Heidi; he was raised in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Midland and graduated from Midland High School in 2009 before going |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | on to study at Midland College and Sul Ross State University, where |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | he graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, After completing his police training in 2014, |

| 16 | 17 | | Officer Heidelberg joined the force in Midland; he embraced his |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | calling and enjoyed having the opportunity to serve the community |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | in which he grew up, and he had fond memories of taking trips with |

| 19 | 20 | | his fellow officers; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A man of many talents and interests, Officer |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Heidelberg played guitar with a local band called Rocky and the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Rhinestones; he also had a love of soccer, ice hockey, and snow |

| 23 | 24 | | skiing and practiced mixed martial arts; moreover, he spent many |

| 24 | 25 | | happy hours out on the lake, where he took pleasure in wakeboarding |

| 25 | 26 | | and waterskiing when he was not driving the boat for others; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Officer Heidelberg's family was deeply important to |

| 27 | 28 | | him, and he was a role model to his younger relatives, including his |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; he endeared himself to |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | friends from all walks of life, and those who were blessed with his |

| 30 | 31 | | friendship knew him as a man who always kept his word and who was |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | always willing to help out in any way he could; and |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Through his courage, integrity, and dedication to |

| 33 | 34 | | duty, Officer Heidelberg represented the finest tradition of law |

| 34 | 35 | | enforcement, and he will be remembered with lasting admiration by |

| 35 | 36 | | his loved ones, his fellow officers, and the community he served so |
