| 10 | 11 | | the international market, with operations in 100 countries around |

| 11 | 12 | | the world; it employs approximately 1,700 people in Texas, |

| 12 | 13 | | including 700 in Waco, 350 in Austin at its customer service center, |

| 13 | 14 | | 30 in Houston at its manufacturing facility, and a sales staff of |

| 14 | 15 | | 550 who work throughout the state; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Allergan plant in Waco was established in 1989, |

| 16 | 17 | | and employees at its 400,000-square-foot facility are responsible |

| 17 | 18 | | for the manufacture and quality control of such popular eye care |

| 18 | 19 | | products as Lumigan and Combigan, which treat glaucoma, as well as |

| 19 | 20 | | Restasis and Refresh eye drops; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The company also contributes to the community |

| 21 | 22 | | through its efforts to hire returning veterans; it has donated |

| 22 | 23 | | $125,000 to "Heroes MAKE America," a career training program for |

| 23 | 24 | | veterans sponsored by the National Association of Manufacturers; |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, By providing jobs for Texans and contributing to the |

| 26 | 27 | | regional economy, the Allergan plant in Waco has made a significant |

| 27 | 28 | | positive impact in Central Texas, and it is truly deserving of |

| 28 | 29 | | special recognition on this special occasion; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas |
