56 WHEREAS, Cameron Worth of Lindsay High School earned first
67 place in the number sense event at the 2018 University
78 Interscholastic League 2A Academic State Meet, held in Austin on
89 May 4 and 5; and
910 WHEREAS, Securing the individual number sense championship
1011 for the second consecutive year, Mr. Worth outscored his opponents
1112 on an 80-question test that required participants to quickly find
1213 solutions to a variety of mathematical problems without the benefit
1314 of calculating tools; in addition, he finished second in the meet's
1415 calculator contest and ranked sixth in math and eighth in science;
1516 and
1617 WHEREAS, With his fine showing in the state's premier high
1718 school academic competition, this bright young Texan has ably
1819 represented his school and community, and the dedication he has
1920 demonstrated is sure to serve him well in the years ahead; now,
2021 therefore, be it
2122 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2223 Legislature hereby congratulate Cameron Worth on his success at the
2324 2018 UIL 2A Academic State Meet and extend to him sincere best
2425 wishes for the future; and, be it further
2526 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2627 prepared for Mr. Worth as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2728 House of Representatives.
