| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 6 | 7 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Melvin and Sarah Long |

| 7 | 8 | | of Childress celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, High school sweethearts, Melvin Matthew Long and the |

| 10 | 11 | | former Sarah Ann Holland were joined in matrimony in 1968 at the |

| 11 | 12 | | First United Methodist Church in their hometown of Estelline; over |

| 12 | 13 | | the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that |

| 13 | 14 | | includes their children, Staci Fair and her husband, Mike, Melanie |

| 14 | 15 | | Cummins and her husband, Todd, and Donna Smith and her husband, |

| 15 | 16 | | Marty, as well as their grandchildren, Matthew and Marcilete Fair, |

| 16 | 17 | | Jacob and Jared Cummins, and Michael and Cole Smith; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Long previously resided in Lubbock and |

| 18 | 19 | | later returned to Estelline, where they lived for many years before |

| 19 | 20 | | making their home in Childress; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed couple have enjoyed five decades of |

| 21 | 22 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |

| 22 | 23 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
