17 | 17 | | Mrs. Morris excelled as a homemaker, cook, and hostess, and she was |

18 | 18 | | also involved in several sewing clubs and enjoyed making |

19 | 19 | | handicrafts; she took great pride in her children, Mindy, Ann, and |

20 | 20 | | Steve, and with the passing years, she had the pleasure of seeing |

21 | 21 | | her family grow to include seven grandchildren, Travis, Morriss, |

22 | 22 | | Holly, Ashlie, Desirae, Ethan, and Stephani, and eight |

23 | 23 | | great-grandchildren, Cooper, Clay Tom, Hudson, James, Will, |

24 | 24 | | Payton, Thomas, and Bronson; and |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Strong in her faith, Mrs. Morriss made church a |

26 | 26 | | priority throughout her life, and she participated in a number of |

27 | 27 | | church groups; in addition, she served as president of the Uvalde |

28 | 28 | | Area Chamber of Commerce and gave freely of her time and talents to |

29 | 29 | | the Uvalde Grand Opera House and the women's auxiliary for Lillian |

30 | 30 | | M. Hudspeth Memorial Hospital in Sonora; and |

31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Doris Morriss lived a life that was rich in family, |

32 | 32 | | friends, and community service, and those who were privileged to |
---|
33 | 33 | | share in her love and affection will forever hold her close in their |
---|
34 | 34 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |

35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Doris Ann Brown |

37 | 37 | | Morriss and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her |
