 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Area Texans are joining together on May 18, 2019, to
 celebrate the grand reopening of the Grand Prairie Animal Services
 and Adoption Center; and
 WHEREAS, First opened in 2003, the Grand Prairie Animal
 Services and Adoption Center has been undergoing an expansion and
 renovation project since March 2017 to accommodate the influx of
 homeless animals in the city; with the remodeling of the facility,
 the shelter has effectively tripled its cat capacity, doubled its
 dog capacity, and added outdoor play spaces as well as a
 "Get-to-Know-You" courtyard for dogs; and
 WHEREAS, Made possible by the diligent and cooperative
 efforts of many community leaders, the remodeled shelter is
 equipped with a new air-conditioning system that provides improved
 air filtering and a healthier environment for the animals;
 furthermore, the facility now includes an upgraded spay and neuter
 clinic, which will increase the number of surgeries performed each
 week; and
 WHEREAS, The newly refurbished Grand Prairie Animal Services
 and Adoption Center will serve as an invaluable resource for the
 community for years to come, and all those who contributed to its
 renovation and expansion may indeed take justifiable pride in
 bringing this project to fruition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the reopening of the Grand Prairie
 Animal Services and Adoption Center and extend to all those
 associated with the organization sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
