| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ben Dixon received well-deserved recognition when |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A science teacher at Bird Special Programs Center, |

| 10 | 11 | | Ben Dixon joined the faculty in 2014; he works tirelessly to help |

| 11 | 12 | | middle school students advance academically and overcome |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | challenges with behavior, self-esteem, and other issues; providing |

| 13 | 14 | | extra tutoring and support as needed, he is a caring mentor and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | strong role model, and he often remains in contact with parents even |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | after their children have gone on to other schools; he also serves |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | as coordinator of the accelerated learning program and as middle |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | school team leader, and he is a member of the Core Team and of many |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | district-wide committees; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ben Dixon exemplifies the passion, determination, |

| 20 | 21 | | and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, |

| 22 | 23 | | profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
